What is it?
The website makes freely available research into the teaching and learning of writing in the Higher Education (HE) Art & Design (A&D)
community. All materials have been collated from individual academics and HE institutions teaching A&D across England.
How to use the
site.
The box on the right has a list of headings:

‘Resources’ contains all information which we wish to disseminate to the wider HE A&D community. Under this heading
you will find:
Image and Writing Gallery
Case Studies
Reports
Discussion Papers
Symposium Presentations
The Image and Writing Gallery contains student writing from institutions involved in the project. This writing may be in a visual form.
There is a commentary from tutors to define the projects set.
The Case Studies set out tried and tested techniques, approaches, and
models that accord writing a central place. In some cases the case studies expand on the information in the Image and Writing Gallery.
The Reports section contains PDFs of the two reports produced in the first phase of the project.
The Discussion Papers archived
here initiated the debates around the purposes and possibilities of writing in A&D.
Symposium Presentations are available here.
Who is it for?
This site will be of greatest interest to any staff who are involved either in the teaching and support of students
of A&D in HE, or with the design of A&D course curricula, e.g. course lecturers / tutors, heads of department, senior tutors and study support
staff.
We would also like to encourage students to visit the site and contact us with their feedback.
The
website was designed and coded by Nick Evans.
